I cannot praise the owner and staff enough for a wonderful weekend, we were made very welcome as soon as we arrived, and throughout our stay, making sure we were comfortable, reserving a table next to the roaring fire each night, informing us of local walks and places of interest. The food was plentiful and excellent value and quality, the local ales also a treat. Sally the owner was very friendly and caring, and Shane behind the bar even lent us his darts ! The rooms were very comfortable, and the building itself so full of character. The breakfast room was bright and you can have any combination of breakfast food you required, even pancakes, all very well presented and made freshly to order. The lounge and bar area were very warm and inviting , exactly as a village pub should be, two roaring fires, good ales, and comfortable seating. As you can imagine, we will certainly return to this hidden gem only 4 miles off the M6, yet with good links to Lancaster on the south , and the lakes to the north, if we can drag ourselves away from the fire!

The friendliest welcome ever. The staff were just awesome and so happy to help, the cook even offered to do our breakfast later than normal which was nice of her. Excellent meal downstairs in the pub, great reasonably priced menu, only managed half of my homemade pizza so they put the rest in a box and kept in the kitchen overnight, I took it home the next day for my son lol. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was very good and excellent quality. Pretty sure we will return to this wee gem.

Enjoyed a lovely stay at The Bulls Head Inn after a lot of travelling by car. I was made to feel very welcome by the staff on a very stormy night (Storm Ashley). The staff very kindly put my table for supper by the roaring log fire. The food certainly exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed everything. My room was small, cosy, clean and just what I needed for one night on my travels. A very hearty breakfast in the morning set me up for the day very nicely indeed. Thank you.

We were attending a family funeral, so the location was excellent for this. Room was clean and bed was comfortable with extra pillows available. There was also an extra radiator in the room for cold evenings. Bottle of water in the room along with tea, coffee etc. We had an evening meal downstairs, with other members of the family, which was excellent, tasty and plenty of food on the plates. The open fire was a bonus too!

Carole

really warm welcome from Sally and the team. We arrived at a very busy time but the staff were great. The pub had a lovely vibe on a Saturday evening too, very welcoming to non-locals. The room was super clean and comfortable. The rooms were also very quiet, which was a relief. local is great too, only 5 minutes away from the beautiful Arnside. breakfast was great too
